Historian, Writer, Director, Beadle, Churchman
Bringing history alive through performance has been a major part of my career and my passion as an historian. I have also tried to do this through my writing, not just on historical matters and artefacts, but also writing for history-based festivals and events. For several years I was Artistic Director of Lancaster's "Georgian Legacy Festival" which I devised, wrote and directed, as well as writing events for numerous other historical events for the likes of Hampton Court Palace and 'Historic England'.
Genuine "Living History" is portrayed in my regular work as a Town Crier and Beadle in the City of London. I am Beadle of the Ward of Vintry, Beadle to the Worshipful Companies of Parish Clerks and Clockmakers, and to the Honourable Company of Knights of the Round Table. I am also Ceremonial Verger to the Church of St James Garlickhythe where I am Master of Ceremonies for events for numerous Livery Companies as well as caring for this grade one listed building.
